Down to earth cafe that offers a very good brew. The loose lead tea was very rich in taste, the cooked breakfast was about average but good value. To improve it, the eggs should have stayed a bit more runny in the middle and been less greasy. I thought it was fine but my partner who's a fussy dates wasn't too happy. I feel the high quality tea goes a long way, had a much worse brew at Speech House afternoon tea where they used one Twinings teabags for a whole pot.
My son and I have lived in 'the forest' about 5yrs. I've eaten in cafes/restaurants here, Cinderford, and the surrounding towns/villages. But i have to say, hand on heart, this was/is easily my fave! My partner and I had the full English breakfast and we were both absolutely delighted. Every item of food; bacon, tomatoes, sausage etc was cooked as if we were family and they knew how we liked our food! Considering the abnormal, hellish couple of years this couple edured, they were both very polite, friendly and actually seemed to enjoy going the extra mile. The quaint courtyard catches the sun, and one could be forgiven if one thought they were in a mediterranean restaurant!........
Go on. Treat yourselves 🙏
Great atmosphere considering the current situations... me and my son there went for breakfast and it was amazing.. will definitely be going again when can...
