Sir Charles Napier is a very cozy, and yes a bit posh, gastropub in a beautiful area of Oxfordshire...The food was lovely although the portions were quite small and definitely more on the pricey side...
The Sir Charles Napier pub has been under current management for something like forty years and has carved out a special place for itself in the industry and in people's hearts also. Perhaps not (yet) with bloggers, we know of only one other blog post on the Napier, but certainly with the world of food journalists - I even spotted on the wall a review by Matthew Fort dated 1994. Matthew Norman meanwhile reviewed it in the Guardian in 2009 and again in the Telegraph in 2010 giving it 10/10 in the former and 9/10 in the latter. Raymond Blanc is even quoted in the Independent saying 'The Sir Charles Napier is the perfect place to take a loved one'. Part of the reason for the spell cast by the Napier is the beautiful setting in which you find yourself.
