A really nice seafood pub / restaurant. Excellent food, oysters were perfectly prepared, local and fresh as well as being fairly priced. I also had the baked scallops as a starter and the sauce was delicious, rich and salty which worked so well with the sweet scallops. We had fish for mains, both really good, although the halibut was a little overdone. The cornish sole was a special for the day and again the crayfish sauce was perfect, it complimented the fish (which was simply cooked and allowed to stand on its own) and really tied the dish together, while the samphire in both the halibut and sole dishes was soft and juicy. We didn't have room for dessert unfortunately.
The wine selection is excellent and it's nice to see some English wines given top billing. Didn't have a chance to try the cocktails but there is a very wide selection of spritz drinks, perfect for the summer.
Nice friendly service, very professionally handled by both the wait and bar staff - checked in with us, asked if we wanted the starters as soon as they were ready (as we had oysters), made sure we had drinks - despite it being a busy service. Excellent all-around experience.
Just stopped for a coffee but super views from the terrace, cosy pub that gets very busy, food looks lovely so will go back and try that another day
Gorgeous food and drinks in a fantastic setting! The fish and chips were the best I’ve had in the UK, we also got oysters, crab Mac n cheese, crab pasta, scallops, and mussels. All really great!
