Fantastic food as always and great staff too. Highly recommend
It is now quite obvious Mr. Allam was in the wrong with a lack of understanding of the current laws concerning guide dogs, instead relying on the knowledge he had of the Health and Safety Act, in relation to domestic animals (which doesn’t apply to guide dogs). He was also courteous and in no way malicious, erring on the side of caution as he felt appropriate for his restaurant.
He has since made a formal apology on their website, armed now with full knowledge of the current law and of course fully accepts guide dogs.
The reviews that are coming in lately are obviously out to try and ruin what IS, and always has been, the best Indian restaurant in Cheltenham. This coming from someone who has lived here for 45 years, eating at the restaurant on many an occasion, along with the many others here - not a keyboard warrior bent on destruction, who has likely been nowhere near the place.
He made a mistake, lesson learned, apology made.
We haven't eaten here for probably 7 or 8 years, when the economy was obviously better. A friendly smile and welcome when we arrived, so like the service the welcome hasn't changed. The free flower to the ladies as they leave have gone and the economic down-turn was evident from the number of empty tables, especially quiet for a Friday night which was surprising. The same appeared to be the case with other restaurants on Bath Road. The service was as good as previous visits as as was the food and the atmosphere, which was nice & relaxed.
There were several families with young children enjoying a relaxed evening meal. We enjoyed our meal and probably won't leave it as long til our next visit. The food was well presented and prepared.
