Superb! We have just returned home from a wonderful meal at the Village Bistro. Ian looked after us from coming through the door to leaving with attentiveness and humour.
I cannot recommend this experience enough.
A little village gem! So welcoming and beautiful food. You can really tell they care about you having the best experience. The sharing camembert was delicious!
My first Sunday lunch at the Village Bistro.... magnificent!
A wonderful paprika and tomato soup with crème fraiche... Wonderful warm crusty bread and perfect butter.
Main course was a very traditional, but fantastic strip loin of beef, perfect Yorkie and great selection of vegetables including a mature cauliflower cheese!!
The beef was so adequately complemented by a wonderful 16% ABV Amerone.... Smooth, full if cherries and plums, but no heaviness... Perfect
Course 3 was amazing.... And I am not usually a pudding person! A wonderful zesty orange marmalade treacle tart with
Amereto ice-cream... Slightly bitter citrus again the reassuringly sweet treacle.... To die for!!
Another post Christmas visit to my favourite bistro! Danielle and Harvey greeted me with the usual warmness that I have become accustomed to at the Village!
Super food again, stubby chorizo with. G&T to start, wonderful homemade filo wrapped prawns to start, parmesan crusted salmon in the middle and fabulous sticky toffee pudding to finish..... Would have been great to have had a digestif alongside it, but a great coffee sufficed as I was driving!
Another great meal at the village bistro... just before the new menu starts.... Filo wrapped prawns, fillet of beef with black pudding bon bons ( and a cheeky bowl of fries) and to finish....my fav orange marmalade treacle tart!!!
