What a hidden gem! The best steak & ale pie, lamb cutlets and the lightest syrup sponge, - a deep yellow delicious sponge made with the freshest eggs. It was really busy, book to be sure of a table. Two wood stoves heating the large airy room, lovely & warm. Very clean WC. All round excellent. We will definitely come again.
One of the best places to eat in this area. Food is absolutely fantastic - not overpriced, well presented, locally sourced, freshly cooked and served wit a smile every time. Plenty of choice for both meat and non-meat eaters. Staff are friendly and always happy to have a wee chat and a laugh.
It's dog friendly. I think dogs are only allowed near the entrance and not the main sitting area, which is good. I like dogs, but not a fan of them being allowed in restaurants, but that's just my opinion.
Still one of the best places to eat with a good, chilled atmosphere. Good portion sizes. Cakes are delicious. Two log burners give off plenty of heat on cooler days. Booking is strongly recommended.
Wonderful place with great service. We only stopped for tea and coffees as was a little early for our lunch, the menu looked good with very reasonable prices .
