Stopped in here to pick up some dinner to eat on the ferry back to Scotland. My husband and I each ordered a rice bowl and a fruit tea.
The portion size was on the smaller side, but the food was lovely. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl and appreciated that the sauce was in a separate pot so as not to make all the contents soggy. Generous amount of sauce, too! (I used less than half). The tsukemono in the bowl were great as well. Loved the pickled red onions.
The tea was perfectly sweet, refreshing and well flavoured. I had the strawberry black tea and I'd recommend it.
The folks working last night were friendly enough, and asked us which utensils we'd prefer - forks or chopsticks. This was appreciated by my husband who is still improving his chopstick proficiency :)
The wait was only around 10 minutes and we made use of the small seating area as we waited. If you plan on sitting in to eat, bear in mind it's a bar style arrangement with only a few seats.
For the type of food we thought the prices were okay. Par for the course with Japanese food. Quality and selection wise we felt like it was good value for money.
(Bonus: I wasn't able to order it yesterday, but I saw that this place does mackerel sushi which is my favourite and heartbreakingly difficult to find. I've only found one other place in the UK that does it. Extra brownie points for Kamakura!)
Lovely fish dishes and sushi. Just had chicken ramen tho, meat was so dry. Hopefully can improve with time. Loads of flavour in everything. Will defo go bk.
Amazing food. Still waiting on the renovations to be completed as it is currently only open for take away.
