What can I say about Mama's other than that it's the quintessential student-friendly kebab outlet. Whatever you're looking for you're sure to find something to spend the last of your change on whether it's one of the meal deals or just a standard burger or kebab. You can even eat in if you like, which is great if it's pouring with rain and you'd rather not have to tuck into a soggy pizza when you get home.
The guys who work is Mama's are great, they'll join in with any banter that's going on in the queue and you can tell that they're always doing their best to get everyone served in the quickest time. Food prices are pretty standard but if you're like me and alcohol makes your eyes get bigger than your stomach you could end up spending upwards of £4.50 on their larger meals. Don't get me wrong, these ones are big and will satisfy anyone's munchies, just make sure you don't get a large chicken meat and chips and then drop it on the road when you're nearly home like I did or you will be SO upset afterwards. I'd been having a really good night until then too and I was only halfway through my kebab when I dropped it. VERY sad times believe me, Mama's kebabs are like gold-dust to drunk people.
Mama's is great for pretty much all of your post-lash needs, and they also do a hangover deal on Sundays where you could get two nice greasy pizzas for the price of one. I would recommend avoiding Mama's when you're sober though - it's just not the same. Kebabs aren't for sober people anyway so you're better off getting a Magic Wrap or something instead. However if you are in that comfortable 2am state then come on down to Mama's and let them look after you.
Under new management. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Fresh food and very tasty. Definitely recommend and will be going back for more. Keep up the high standards.
The boys at Mama'a Kebab House know what they are doing! I don't suppose their pre-made, pre-bought kebabs are any different to anybody else's, but for some reason they just taste better than practically everywhere else! I don't know about the burgers, because if I want meat it's got to be a kebab every time, but I also rate the pizza's, and often go for the Sunday special after a visit to the Vulcan. I'm a little ashamed to admit this, but I have been known to recruit pure strangers in the pub in order to go and get two for the price of one on a Sunday... shameful behaviour really... but it's not my fault that this kind of deal is open to this kind of abuse!
The guys here are really friendly, and work really hard... I like to think of my little ruse as a means of introducing new people to the establishment that wouldn't have otherwise patronised the place... phew, perhaps I'll be able to sleep tonight after all!
