It’s worth mentioning how accommodating Bully’s were of the 2 rugrats who formed part of our group. Colouring pencils were supplied and the place mats made ideal colouring-in sheets. Also, an off-menu vanilla ice cream cone with sprinkles was conjured from nowhere for dessert.
Just a quick note to say that No. 5 is a really great addition to the Pontcanna food scene, offering something a little different - more low key, but with a focus on great quality dishes. Went for dinner a few weeks back (there's a lovely intimate atmosphere) and just had breakfast there this morning, and it really is very good.
I'm looking forward to doing a better review with pictures for our next visit.
Update 28 April 2024
We decided to try No. 5 Pontcanna for Sunday lunch and, having tried and tested and accumulated a fair few favourites in and around Cardiff, I've got to say this didn't disappoint. On the contrary everything about the experience was spot on. Kudos to the staff, who were pleasant, receptive and quick to please. The kitchen too, were on-point. Good ingredients and really great flavours. And there was a really great atmosphere. A perfect Sunday afternoon lunch.
Hope they do well. Lunch time specials was good simple food, done very well. No pretentiousness to the food or price. Look forward to a breakfast / brunch visit. Best of luck to the owners.
