Good value for a family meal, as kids meal is free with a full priced adults'. Staff usually helpful and friendly. My only wish would be for some more vegan options on the adults menu, and vegetarian/flexibility on substitutions on the kids menu as if you have a dietary requirement or fussy child it can be hard when they run out of favourites and other options are limited.
This had really gone downhill towards the end of 2019 - often closed early or out of stock. I have been in a few times this year and things have definitely improved however. It's a café/eatery attached to a super market so not fine dining but they have a decent range, with good sized portions at a reasonable price.
It's OK
Bearing in mind this is a little branded cafe, attached to a supermarket, it's fine. They're not trying to be a bistro or provide any sense of fine dining experience.
If you're looking for an alternative to Wincheap rush hour traffic, or just some cheap, edible grub then there are worse places and few alternatives nearby. The food is a solid 3/5 - bit meh but the prices seem more than fair considering. Menu is short but varied but with nothing exotic or surprising; fish & chips, chicken burger, spag. bol. etc
Coffee and soft drinks pump out of a machine, cutlery and condiments you can grab yourself as you leave the cafeteria style counter. The tables are a bit sticky at times but the decor is bearable - it does feel a bit like an Ikea showroom though.
The reason this gets a 4 is because I've never encountered a member of cafe staff who wasn't polite, helpful and friendly.
if nothing else it's consistent.
