Very good pasta. Vegetable board and farfalle with sausage and broccoli were excellent.
Upstairs seating is quieter.
Gelato is also very good.
Service was excellent.
We became aware of this one walking by and examining the menu. It's a short distance from the high traffic tourist area but worth the trip.
Who am I kidding? This is worth 5 stars: we keep going, and going, and going... It's one of those safe places you go when you want a quiet, indulgent meal, and it's cold and wet outside, and you hate your job, and you didn't ask to be born, and - oooh, is that Primitivo?
It's still simple, but magistrally done: even the assortment of cold cuts you can get for starters will put you in a good mood - I don't know how they choose their suppliers, but they obviously demand quality: tasty ham that melts under your tongue, subtle fennel flavours illuminating the salami, get the picture?
My personal favourite is still chicken in a marsala sauce (make sure you have some bread left to mop up the plate).
Ice-creams are their end-of-meal triumph: strong, clean flavours that put all other places in town to shame (with one possible exception: Signorelli). You can get them to go, from the freezer next door, but I challenge you to resist their teaser selection: about a dozen mini-cones on a tray, ready to blow your neurones. You have been warned.
Get the 'linguine con gamberi e funghi' here - it's basically seafood pasta with mushrooms. It's super simple and delicious, and the shrimps are the best part. I also tried the Margherita pizza and it was great as well (but not the very best). The pizza is also given uncut so you can eat the whole pie whichever way you like. In contrast to the reviews, I really liked the service - our server was super nice and welcoming. I have to admit though that it took a while for us to get our bill after we asked for it. But my experience was great so I didn't mind the inconvenience too much. Highly recommend!
I've been here a couple of times, and had the best pizza I've had in Cambridge, which is an achievement in a city weirdly full of pizza restaurants.
The service is always friendly, if not always super-fast.
We love this place, especially in the summer when we sit outside. The owner welcomed us to Cambridge and we'll always come back. The food? Very good, in fact the best risotto in town!
My partner and I reserved a table for lunch here whilst visiting Cambridge for a day.
The reservation process is very easy and they were happy to accommodate us to the table even though we were early.
We were visiting in the middle of the heatwave and it’s important to note that the whole restaurant is in an old building with just one fan to cool it.
The food was out of this world, easily comparable to authentic Italian food in Italy. Fresh, flavourful and overall amazing.
What let this place down for us was the waitress - we’ve found her to be very unwelcoming and uninterested. We’ve felt like we were an inconvenience to her by being there.
Great food, fast waiters, cosy atmosphere and delicious dessert. And it is also inexpensive compared to neighbouring restaurants.
I highly recommend it to connoisseurs of Italian cuisine!🤌
Had dinner here last Friday. The food was excellent, with prompt service and a very classy, pleasant atmosphere. They were also very accommodating when we asked to make a slight adjustment to a dish for dietary reasons. Would definitely return if back Cambridge - quality Italian food; especially recommended the huge pizzas.
A lovely meal with friendly and efficient staff. Great food and house wine! Definitely to return! Highly recommended!
Honestly the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. We booked a table for 6 and the cosy atmosphere and professional, friendly service did not disappoint. As for the food, I recommend the antipasti sharing platters (veg option available) and all our mains were superb. Wine selection was amazing and we just about had room for dessert!
