This is a delightful place having a nice style of decor, well laid out tables with comfy seats or armchairs/sofas as per your choice.
The bar is quite intimate and you do get a few people who like to sit, chat and oh yes drink!
The food is really delicious, we've tried the sharing meat board twice now and it is quite enough for two people.
If you wish a good lunch or afternoon food it is best to get there early as they tend to fill up quite quickly after 12 midday.
I also visited for coffee with my brother and his pooch, nice and relaxed.
They do accept reservations.
This was our first visit & for an "out of towner" I have to say I was suitably impressed. A very trendy bar with an impressive selection of beers, both on cask & keg. We didn't try the food but there were a few who did and whilst it's difficult to judge by looks alone, it was well presented & smelt good! The empy plates reinforced that too. The only downside I could see was the price, it wasn't the cheapest, but to coin & old phrase "you get what you pay for"? Personally I was there for the beers & there were 3 casked on offer, Beartown, best bitter, Wincle beer co, Life of Riley IPA, Thornbridge, Jaipur* (im told 4 in summer) & a good selection of craft & pilsner style beers on keg, including Blue Moon wheat beer. Both the Jaipur & the Life of Riley were in excellent condition. I didn't try the Beartown. Overall this was a superb bar, the service was excellent & the cleanliness equally so. The toilets, athough quite small, were also clean & tidy. A great assest for Buxton, we'll be back & maybe next time we'll sample the food. Recommended
Hadn't been since it's was renamed but will be back! Delicious Med Veggie Tart with the best chips and nice salad. Didn't have to wait long. We went before our showing at the opera house so around 6pm & it wasn't busy.
