Countryside pub with good food. The Ram Inn is set in the Cliviger Gorge at Holme Chapel, nr. Burnley, amid beautiful countryside. Vintage Inns have done a great conversion from the drab previous interior, stripping things back to what it might have looked like in 1848 when it was founded, and furnishing it with antique wooden chairs and tables and knick-knacks. There are numerous rooms off rooms, some with real log fires. If the weather is fine you can eat outside in a small courtyard or on one of the many tables overlooking Thieveley Pike. They specialise in the traditional pub classics, but also cook a wide variety of grills and vegetarian options (see link to menus). There are separate menus for lunch, dinner, and children. Lunch 1 course is £5.95, 2 courses £7.95 and 3 courses £9.95. Evening meals are all around £6.95 for the pub classics. Recommended. Food served all day every day.
