What a great place to stay. We had a couple of nights at the Village Inn with two children, and it couldn't have been better. Located an hour's walk (or five minute drive) from Petersfield, and on the doorstep of the South Downs. We stayed in 'Charlton' room which came with an ante-room with two single beds for the children, they LOVED it. The main bedroom had a bath at the foot of the bed (a shower attachment, but no proper shower) and the interior design was spot-on. Only small negative was the 'en-suite' which consisted of a loo and tiny sink in a cupboard (the other cupboard in the room is the wardrobe, which is the same size) not ideal, but not enough to sully the overall experience. Downstairs is the 'Inn' of the name, and again the attention to detail is exceptional. The Gin Shed is a lovely touch, but the sofa areas are lovely for passing an hour or two, and the dinner menu was great (a little pricey, but great food). Breakfast is simple, but again great quality. I can honestly say this is one of the best small hotels I've stayed at, and we'll be back soon.
Just returned from a short overnight stay. We were very impressed by the room, the roll top bath was a very nice addition. We had dinner on the Saturday and had a very nicely cooked steak, breakfast was excellent and we even got gluten free bread! We would thoroughly recommend.
Loved it and would stay again! Great breakfast included and the place is so cozy and pretty! And yes the staff is excellent!
