Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Very intimate place, service was exceptional, even down to bringing me a taste of the house wine to see if I liked it before I ordered one. Food was the best we've ever had, tasty and excellent presentation. Service was outstanding, constantly being asked if we we're okay and if we needed anything. Will 1000% recommend this place and will definitely be making a return.
Lovely place and lovely staff. Have to recommend the prawn cocktail starter, best prawns I've ever had!! We had fillet steak and venison for mains, with chips, jacket potato, salads and coleslaw. Cooking yourself is great as you can cook it just how you want it, we struggled to eat it all as there was so much food, and the raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake with ice cream is to die for! Even if you're too stuffed from starters and mains make sure you have a dessert!!
Amazing food. Relaxed environment. Everyone was so friendly here. If you are in the Bromsgrove area it's definitely worth checking out!
Where to start! The moment you walk in you are greeted with a smile and friendly service from the owner Dean. Went for my Fiancees birthday and when we were shown to our table, they had put up a "Happy Birthday" banner on the wall. Such a thoughtful thing to do and brought a big smile to her (and my) face.
The food was amazing and you could tell was cooked fresh. Let's not forget the unique volcanic rocks to cook steak on! Never enjoyed a meal as much. Throughout the whole evening Dean was chatty (after eating) and always smiling/joking and recommending certain meals. Can't speak more highly of him.
We will certainly be returning. My fiancee, a geologist, had an amazing time and most of the way home we were talking about everything we loved. Which is why the conversation lasted until Stourbridge!
Thank you for making it a special night!!!
Had dinner with a client at On The Rocks and it was the highlight of the day. Great service, even better food and an overall great experience from a little venue such as this!
The owner showed some great hospitality and making us feel very welcomed and we certainly had a great time. We ordered fillet steak and to be honest I am not sure if I actually preferred this type of cooking. But nonetheless the owner who also made his own dessert, the dessert made our night memorable. The steak toffee pudding that I ordered was one of the best I ever tasted. Moist and very generous offering of toffee sauce. Certainly come back again for the dessert!
Great dining experience, really felt like a family owned restaurant. Great homemade local produce.
Amazing experience would go every week if I could afford it! Staff are so attentive and obviously seem to enjoy their job. Owner is active in what's going on during your visit and is a real laugh! Our waitress was fantastic (I want to say Robyn? Sorry if it's wrong) but all of the girls out front were fantastic!
Home cooked chips were amazing and the choice of homemade desserts made it difficult to choose! Meat was amazing and love that the owner is honest about his food! It's nice to hear a chef have confidence in the quality he's serving and it doesn't disappoint!
It's a tad expensive for everyweek which is a real shame as I'd love to eat here more often! Would love to see a cheaper menu or set course deal for the early days of the week but that's just because I wanna eat there again already!
I really hope if you are reading this, you try it out because it's a little gem! Thankyou again for all of your hospitality at On The Rocks!
Dean who owns the restaurant is a fabulous host. The meat is of excellent quality and the hand cut chips are actually hand cut. I can thoroughly recommend a night here, fun, lovely food and the best cheesecake I have ever had. Would definitely recommend, fun, tasty and you will be well looked after.
Really good food and friendly service. I enjoyed being able to cook my meal exactly as I liked it "on the rocks". This helped create a really nice atmosphere. The veg and jacket potato I had with lovely venison were nice, but nothing special and there was little for vegetarians. Though I can't fault the meal or service, I felt it was a bit expensive (over £30 each) for what we got.
Absolutely brilliant!
Amazing customer service, fantastic quality food and wonderful atmosphere. The owner said the concept (of cooking your own food on hot rocks in front of you) is quite popular in Portugal but I'd never seen anything like it and thought it was a great experience.
Would definitely recommend!
Brilliant restaurant. Food is wonderful, a novel concept (cooking meat on rocks at your table) and the owners are fantastic hosts who can't do enough for you. I'm a returning customer who drags as many people as I can to the place and have never had a bad experience.
