Wow!
What perfectly cooked fish. I took my other half in here for her birthday.
The owner Simone took my booking weeks ago without realising that I had booked for a night she was shut. Instead of just being closed and spoiling our day, she opened especially. This tells you that she cares about her customers. She came out and had a chat, we even ended upin her kitchen! (which is immaculate)
The whole place is a professionally run business and we will return.
Thanks Simone.
Had a pleasant, well prepared meal last night. Started with the mussels, which were very succulent in a good sauce. For a main, I had the monkfish. It was prepared perfectly and was probably the largest portion of monk fish I have ever had, very good. The only negative was the timing of the service. The servers were pleasant but 30 minutes between ordering and our starters (and our nibbles, which you would think we would have to "nibble" on waiting for the starters). Another 30 minutes between the starters and the mains. It was a Sunday night and the restaurant was less than half full, so they were not exactly slammed. The food was, again, quite good and with better efficiency would have been a perfect evening.
Had a lovely meal at this elegant restaurant overlooking the harbor. They do such a lovely job with cooking seafood here, it's a great chance to spoil yourself and go for the nicer fish you don't normally have at home. The scallop starter with smoked bacon was divine, and my seabass with kaffir lime, chili, and garlic butter was perfectly cooked and delicate. They served a wide variety of sides to the table - buttery dauphinoise potatoes, new potatoes, chips, and mixed veg, so we all had more than enough to go around!
Highly recommended for a special occasion, it definitely has a bit of an upscale feel about it, and is rather quiet and formal inside.
