Visited May 6, 2019: It certainly lived up to its name, and was fun even for someone who was in his mid-20s. Outside area is a great place to just chill out, too. Sad to see its closed because of a fire, though. Hope they come back soon.
My visit was about a year ago.
Great experience, and interesting displays. Some of the displays were amazing and great fun and very interactive, with even more hands-on interactive displays upstairs. Some were very cliché though, like the one with an "AI robot" which I think didn't do AI justice at the time, and I imagine didn't age very well over this past year with the advances in large language models and generative AI specifically. However I look forward to returning, as I have heard the displays are rotated out, and others in, over time. :)
This is definitely one of the better ones!
The five stars relate to when We The Curious is open. It houses a hands-on exploratory with the sort of exhibits that I would love to have seen as a child. Unfortunately there was a fire earlier in year which means it is currently shut for repair. Apparently the fire was caused by gulls causing an electrical fire on the solar panels on the roof! While the exploratory is closed the staff are running free sessions in Millennium Square for children to build the biggest, tallest and most beautiful structures.
