My experience at the Lido Clifton Pool in Bristol left me with a sense of polite disappointment. The staff, I must say, were truly exceptional in their friendliness and assistance. However, it's essential to mention that the overall cost-benefit ratio falls a bit short of expectations.
The premises, while charming, lacked a dedicated space for relaxation, leaving guests without anywhere to chill. The main pool's temperature also left something to be desired, leading everyone to crowd into the small hot tub for warmth.
On a positive note, the showers were a highlight, offering a refreshing and clean experience. The availability of luxurious robes added a touch of luxury and comfort to the visit. The cleanliness of the facility itself was commendable.
The real star of the show was the on-site restaurant, which provided an incredible dining experience, truly setting itself apart. In summary, the Lido Clifton Pool, while not without its limitations, remains a lovely spot for some relaxation, featuring excellent staff, top-notch showers, and a dining experience that is simply unforgettable, even if the overall value for money could be improved.
The food and atmosphere is great, it's a bit higher end but it doesn't take itself too seriously either. I would definitely come back again. I love that the restaurant has an open air atmosphere and overlooks the pool.
Very nice evening atmosphere in the restaurant overlooking the pool. For three people the bill was £208.69 (discretionary service 12.5% reckoned in) and this included 1 bottle of Malbec, a rum, 2 starters (scallops) and 3 mains (lamb, crab), dessert and some sides. Food was tasty, but budget for the occasion, and it's a pleasant evening out.
