We had a lovely experience at Wilson’s about a month ago. The atmosphere is nice and not too busy, the staff are kind and welcoming, and the food was inventive and mostly very nice. It obviously comes with a high price point, but this is expected for well prepared food using high quality ingredients.
Our only criticisms for Wilson’s are that when we went, no drink was included in the price of the tasting menu - usually at other restaurants with tasting menus, at least a glass of wine and/or a hot drink at the end would be included in the price. Had we had this, I think it would’ve felt a little more worth the money. An extra (but not so important) point we noticed, was that when bringing a dish out, our server said it was her favourite on the menu whilst explaining it, and then we heard her say the same kind of line word for word about another dish to the couple sat next to us. Of course I don’t mind all too much but it just made the service feel slightly impersonal and ingenuine. The staff were still lovely though. We would love to come again to try a new seasonal menu!
Booked by my son for my birthday. We had the taster menu, which was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent and the staff knowledgeable about what they were serving. The menu was extensive and adapted for the vegetarian member of the party. The fresh flavours of the herbs and the tasty produce were all experienced by us, with the different courses.
