Been here a few times now, both dining in.
The menu is huge - quite overwhelming actually, but the waiter provided a bit of guidance. I found the food both times quite good.
The ‘grabbing a curry’ is deeply rooted in the English culture, but this is mostly done through taking food home. I like it how this restaurant has two parts, a dine-in and a take-away part. But I find the atmosphere in the restaurant not great. Partly this is because of the lack of people, but maybe there’s a chicken-and-egg situation going on here. To add a Dutch word here: I don’t find it very ‘gezellig’.
Will be back though.
Spend one dinner night, I should really thank the entire team for a happy welcoming even at the last minute for closing the shop.
Dishes are really good which giving nice aroma of Indian spices and all.
One bad thing I noticed was few currys they serve have a common base gravy , which doesn’t make any difference if you order those
Myself and a few friends go down to Shari from time to time when the deal is on offer. Nan bread, starter, curry and a rice all for under £10 so not bad when you can't be bothered to cook. We always get the youngish waiter who takes his time to talk to you and make you feel welcomed. The food is pretty good, sometimes not enough when it comes to the main dish but I feel they do this because of the deal. The down side (which is always the case) we're always waiting at least 45 minutes for our food! They never seem to be in a rush to get your food out, even when it's not busy! Apart from that it's a decent meal and good for value.
