Just went in for a coffee break on our travels, the staff so welcoming and friendly and showed us into the lounge with our dog too . Lovely cream teas all round and left very satisfied. Looks like a great place to stay , well looked after and maintained. Loads of wonderful walks and views around this area .
What a fantastic place. Everything was superb - the welcome, the rooms, the grounds, the public areas, dinner and breakfast. But more than anything the service. Emily has to have special mention. She was everywhere and amazingly friendly and helpful. A top place. I will definitely stay again if in the area.
Overnight stay on the way to Cornwall, friendly as soon as you walk through the door, told us what we needed to know concerning room & food, we were given a menu to choose our evening meal, you don't have to eat there, also directions for a walk. Complimentary tea/coffee& cake during your stay, carrot cake& sticky ginger cake both good, bedroom lovely & clean, not the biggest room but everything you need, kettle, teapot, tea, coffee,& sugar, a bottle of water also, not your plastic bottles, a proper glass bottle with a stopper, also a decanter with sherry,& 2 sherry glasses, there were also sweets. Bed was comfy, we had a lovely view, nice & quiet, the bathroom had blinds which you pull upwards, which worked really well, as you could still have windows open for ventilation, people wouldn't be able to see you, the shower was an absolutepower shower& piping hot. The food in the restaurant was beautifully cooked, £25 for 2 courses,£30 for 3, drinks extra, the duck & mango salad for starters was lovely, salmon & cod were both lovely, fresh veg, sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream, & a fruit meringue bombe were both good, breakfast was cereal, & porridge for hubby with honey & brown sugar, followed by a full English with toast. Our double room was £95 including breakfast, definitely recommend, wouldn't hesitate to stay there again
