Melts from the first bite.
The best patties you can have
I really rate the food here, also good customer service : )
I'd give my right hand to be as successful as the folk at Mr Patty.
Now in their 40th year, this tiny, rather shabby little premises had my head in a spin after I popped in for a beef patty at around five on a Friday afternoon.
In my nine years of being a resident in Harlesden I had never entered this high street gold mine, so when a mate of mine who had had last feasted on a patty about fifteen years ago suggested we give it a whirl, I was just curious to find out how such a small, rather insignificant looking shop could have survived for so long.
A cup of tea later and I had to change the verb - not so much surviving as thriving.
Thirty people must have come in to order their 'usual' fare and at least three people were utterly crest fallen because some evil witch had taken the last eight banana fritters in one go.
The young man serving was familiar with everyone except for me. I felt rather left out. Poking through the doorway, customers would shout 'about ten minutes, ok?' without even mentioning what their order was. Bonkers.
So, the patty arrived unceremoniously in a flimsy bag with a paper napkin. Rough puff pastry encasing a very lightly spiced beef filling that felt, well, just right. It's not rocket science and it's not anything I can put my finger on, but you just have to loudly applaud a business that hasn't changed since its inception. If it ain't broke...............
