I visited on Valentine's Day and bought a very small hairy looking cactus as a gift. It was only about 5 inches tall ( including the terracotta pot ). I thought it might be nice to have a small piece of red ribbon around the pot just to make it look a bit more like a present. I thought I would see if one of the ladies on the flower desk would give me a small piece - as they were all pretty busy arranging Valentine's Day bouquets. When I asked - a lovely lady called Paula - asked to look at my plant and then proceeded to take so much time to create the most beautiful garland and bow that she placed around the pot. She took time and effort to make sure it looked amazing. When I mentioned that to her - she just smiled and said "Whatever we can do to make you happy". I was quite blown away. Thank you Paula - you are a true artist. I have been visiting this place several times over the years and the staff have a customer service ethic that is simply from another time. Courteous, knowledgeable and - most of all - they make time for you ( no matter how small the request).

Fantastic place to go and shop for your garden needs plus that odd gift you forgot and then you have the wonderful cafe with all that it has to offer food wise & those cakes. Then you have to take those members of staff into account as they are just the best all round funny friendly & completely mad as hatters which helps the rest of us bafoons, lol just love it there.

I love this garden centre. Amazing layout. Friendly and extremely helpful staff. I've recently moved to Hay on Wye and we use the garden centre as our best cafe. I buy all my pet food and bits here because prices are so reasonable and we constantly partake of both cafe and restaurant. I would highly recommend it to anyone
