Good selection of dishes on the menu for this Italian restaurant near Braintree. The specials board also had a few extra dishes to choose from. I went for mussels for starters, and whole sea bream for main. My wife had the smoked salmon and the liver and bacon for her main. All of the dishes were really tasty. If I had one criticism I thought the bream was over seasoned. For dessert I would highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Definitely up there with the best sticky toffee puddings I’ve eaten. My wife had pecan pie which had a lovely crunchy pastry. Overall the mega was good, not outstanding but it’s better than your average Italian.
Went on a busy Saturday evening, luckily they'd had a cancellation. Restaurant was lovely & busy, so quite noisy when chatting. Had pre dinner drinks at our table & weren't rushed to order & I went with a couple of suggestions from our server. The scallops in bacon were cooked perfectly & the lobster quadroni was delicious. Followed by liver & bacon and Monkfish, both dishes very tasty, though my partner said liver wasn't pink but still very good. Just had to try the bread & butter pudding, as made with Brioche, my favourite alongside Panettone B and B. It was brilliant!
All in all a lovely evening, not rushed, no long wait for food but nice timing between courses. Definitely recommend & we will return - so many amazing starters I'd love to try !
Great venue, excellent food and incredible service.
Popped in for Mother's Day (managed to squeeze us in with only a weeks notice) and had the set three course meal. Managed to swap starters with another choice with no issues. Good was good, and the lasagna was incredible. The service was fast and great too.
I'd definitely go back, will recommended.
