We had a family meal on Sunday which consisted of 9 people, one a toddler. The table was in the right part of the pub to allow the little one to have some room. Service was excellent although we had to wait quite a while for our food to arrive. Two people had the Sunday roast and said it was excellent. My turbot was well cooked and the smashed potatoes really tasty. Nice atmosphere and nice surroundings, will be back sometime.
I've never been to the Stansfield Arms before. But straight off the bat, I have to say the staff were great, attentive, and smiling and never in a rush.
My Starter was Muscles in a white source, but I like my muscles just plain steamed, which the chef very obligingly did for me. My main course was Steak&Ale Pie, with a choice of green vegetables, beautifully cooked parsnips, served with deep golden brown chips, along with a rich beef gravy. I'd say the chips were the best I've ever eaten. Coming back to the pie, contained in crusty pastry, the steak was tender, no suspicious chewy bits either. The pie was superb.
Our experience at the Stansfield Arms was excellent, service and food excellent. We'll certainly be coming here again. Highly recommended.
Always a pleasure to visit this stunning pub . Food was exceptional and all staff were very friendly and polite
