A wonderful place, delicious food, great and exciting concept, friendly knowledgable staff, stylish and clever decor, a really great atmosphere and I particularly loved the snazzy toilets. It’s a fantastic place and I’d highly recommend it to everyone. The mussels and vegetable sushi were yummy!! Well done everyone x
It’s wonderful to have a bar with a fresh new approach that puts sustainability first. The good news is that both the food and drinks are delicious as well.
Update June 2018:
Incidentally- the sustainable approach is so appropriately woven in to the fabric of the place, that there’s a chance that you’ll not even notice. The team will happily run you through the finer points - but I feel it’s incidental. All businesses (and people) need to realise that this planet won’t survive the rate of consumption and pollution it’s being subjected to without some changes being widely adopted. It should be the norm - not a pr stunt.
The small plate offerings have continued to develop and remain both delicious and key word: ‘small plate’. Don’t expect large plates. If you’re feeling peckish - perhaps ask the team which items might be more filling? Heritage Potatoes for example. Typically, ordering three options ticks the box for me.
Terroir offers a wide selection of drinks, but please do few free to ask if you don’t see something on the blackboard that you’d like. They are adept bartenders. White wine spritz? Rum and coke? Simple stuff of course, but all easily achieved. There are all sorts of ingredients just out of sight under the counter.
A final word. If you do want some inspiration on some sustainability changes that the world so desperately needs - do ask the team. They don’t do it to be unique on the high street, or to have some ‘holier than thou’ moral high ground. They do it because it’s the right thing to do and whilst they are somewhat at the vanguard of things - it’s the sort of action that needs more and more people and companies to adopt for maximum impact.
Or (of course) you could just pop in for a bite to eat and drink in relaxed surroundings.
Came for dinner last night and had a truly wonderful time. We eat a mainly vegan diet so it was refreshing to go somewhere that really caters for that and has its own take on dining. It’s different and interesting and a really awesome experience. The wine was lovely, the food was interesting and tasty and the chef Nicole is clearly so passionate about what she does and spent plenty of time talking through the dishes and flavours. Will definitely be back again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for something different to the usual ‘deep fried’ generic menu. Fab and fun.
