After finding it impossible to book tables for my wife's 40th for 20+ guests at other pubs, my sister suggested the Red Lion in Bomere Heath because she'd heard they'd recently started serving food.
I called the pub and spoke to Sparky, explained my requirements and he told me that it would not be a problem, even though they didn't normally do food on a Sunday evening he would for us. He even closed the lounge just for us so that it was only us and the guests in there.
Nothing was too much trouble for him and his staff, he allowed me to decorate with balloons, etc, and left me to it.
The food we had was delicious, everyone agreed. It's all homemade, and you could tell.
I couldn't recommend Sparky and his hospitality any higher. And, there's a lovely beer garden out the back together with ample parking in the adjacent car park.
At the moment, they don't do food every day, but we were told to ring if we fancied a meal, and if the party was big enough he'd cook for us, and that if it were only 6-7 , depending on what day it was, he wouldn't mind.
Burger night here is flipping great!! Beer is well kept, food is hella tasty and reasonably priced and service is great and friendly! Cant recommend enough!
