I enjoyed it here. Originally it was just a tiny stall in Bolton Market, and I thought it was just a shop where you primarily buy coffee beans, but now there's The Coffee Grind on Newport Street, which is a full blown coffee shop, and feels like a touch of Manchester's Northern Quarter but in Bolton.
Its exposed brickwork and chunky wood furnishings work well with the tall ceilings, and a huge mirror on one end to give the illusion of more space in what is already a spacious venue.
The service is friendly and professional, and it's nice that I had the option of a few different teas, as many coffee shops simply offer "tea" as well as the coffees. The coffees available sit on a big set of shelves in large kilner jars, and a chiller by the main counter shows the sandwiches and snacks available, as well as a cake stand on the counter to tempt you!
Good value, and they have a loyalty card too. I'll definitely be back.
Owner is lovely, definitely appreciates coffee rather than just trying to get you to buy things. Cheaper beans than anywhere I've bought from so far, interesting selection of popular ones and some you might not see too often
Nigel is always very helpful and certainly knows his stuff. Buy beans or get him to grind to your specification. I personally love the Viennese Fig blend (wonderful) but not always available but a. Chance to try new flavours.
Lovely little coffee shop in the market, Perfect
