Went midweek between Christmas and New Year. Large area for parking at the year but spaces are not marked out and didn’t see any designated disabled spots. If you have mobility problems you might struggle. There are a number of steps down to the rear entrance. The hand rail doesn’t come the full length. Steps out front as well to the entrance. I didn’t see any ramp for disabled access.
Menu wasn’t overly extensive but a good range of options available. However, there wasn’t any specials menu either which I had expected to see. I opted for the fish and chips with garden peas. My friend went for the chicken and leek pie after her starter of creamy garlic mushrooms. The portions were great. One of the biggest fish I have had in a pub or restaurant. And I really enjoyed it. The chips could have also been excellent but a few were very thick and therefore, a little undercooked. Otherwise very tasty. I opted for dessert. Chocolate orange cheesecake. Again very tasty but, for the price, I think the portion should have been bigger.
It’s no good me saying I would visit again as unfortunately the news suggests that this establishment will be closing in 2023. Based on my experience I doubt that this has anything to do with the quality of the food.
Nice welcome and great start to service.
Lovely starters, main course very tasty, cheese board slightly disappointing, presentation was poor for the cheese booad, no variety in biscuits and had to ask for butter and side plates as we shared the cheese board to end. Otherwise quality tasty food and the blackpud scotch egg starter was delicious. The Malbec was very nice.
Visited several times and really do enjoy the cross gaits. Very friendly staff, food is very good and the roast is huge.
Can't compliment you enough
Keep up the good work
