This is a Samuel Smith pub so don't expect to find any big brands. What you will find is good value beer and food. The beer was well kept and the food was delicious home cooked, generous potions. Good value at £18 for 2 main meals and two pints.

Great little drinking pub,that also provides a small food menu.We have been visiting the Petre for over 15 years and all I can say is give it a try. Great selection of draught lager, real ales as well as bottled beers. The only difference between the Petre and other brewery owned pubs is you go home with money in your pocket ...its that cheap for drinking 👍

Great food and beer at fantastic value. Staff very friendly and 100% a dog friendly pub! Cash only though so need to go to hotel over the road for cash back if only got cards.
