I popped in for a coffee before going to the train station and found a gem. A lovely friendly place, so different from the other coffee shops. There is a children's play area with toys , books and games. The shop is refreshing and welcoming and serves homemade food and cakes at very reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend it, worth a visit.
A lucky thing that I had eight hours between flights at Stanstead airport. Decided to catch a bus into Bishops Stortford to kill some time and find a cafe, and what a great find. Sid and her team provide a safe environment for people with learning difficulties, where they can learn and improve their social skills as well as gain experience in the cafe trade. But its much more, the welcome was lovely and the food and service great. All home cooked and to a good standard.
A little treasure with a big heart. So if you've stuck in Stanstead it's only a 20 minute bus ride away, and if you're passing through Bishops Stortford then pop on in. You won't regret it.
A wonderful, locally run café and a lovely trip back to earlier times, where the experience was everything.
Come in, check out the vegan chilli jacket potato and a strong espresso and chat with friends, old and new! :)
They host regular Makaton sign language classes, as well as First Aid Training. Pop in to see the schedule and prices.
