Visited Daniel's on a Friday night as a group of 4. It was quite busy and the young lady waitress really earned her wages. The food was quite excellent all round interesting and flavoursome starters and main meals. Another advantage from my perspective wines were good and varied and not at ridiculous prices. Highly recommended.

The food was delicious on the whole, the wine was good and the service was very efficient and friendly. Our criticisms were that the 'gratis' taster was too salty and the size of the portions especially the side order of vegetables were quite small. The side order of vegetables was only really enough for two people even though there were four of us! Definitely worth a re-visit!

We went to dine in Daniel's Bistro on 15/03/17. The impression of the place as soon as one enters is of understated elegance and class. Nothing kitsch or pretentious, the kind of atmosphere one would like to accompany to an exceptional experience. And what a culinary experience it was! The chef Daniel is a genius in my opinion, as soon as we arrived he offered us a little cup filled with what I can only describe as heavenly soup. It was perfect in every way, not too salty or spiced, not too hot or cold, it was just perfect and prepared one's palate for what was to come. I ordered the shoulder of lamb and my partner ordered, at the chef suggestion, a simple dish of king prawns with sweet chilli. The lamb was absolutely DIVINE! It melted in the mouth with a hint of wilderness and exceptional freshness, the soft and smooth aftertaste surprised at every morsel, the feeling of satisfaction followed every bite. The accompanying vegetables were a feast for the senses and difficult to stop eating. A far cry from steamed and bland vegetables one often finds even in posh restaurants. The king prawns were on par with the lamb, the sweet chilli was the perfect companion to a very generous portion of large king prawns cooked to perfection. At a point I could not restrain myself anymore and had to give the chef my compliments for such an incredible meal. Daniel's humble demeanour makes cooking such outstanding meal look easy. Honestly I had not had such an exceptional meal for months and NEVER in the UK, despite my many travels across the country over the years. I will be going again very soon to see what other exceptional dishes Daniel will create. See you all there! CNK
