This is one of Edgbastons hidden gems boasting a surprisingly extensive menu, uncluttered informal layout perfect for small or large events and really welcoming friendly staff. True, communicating with staff can sometimes be challenging but hey, it's genuine italians serving genuine Italian dishes and the food speaks for itself! A particular highlight of the menu is their doughnuts (which should be illegal they are that good) and their fresh, handmade pizzas will have you coming back time and again!
I have been to Italy so many times with both business and leisure, and this lives up to every perception I have of what a warm well run Italian should be, in the UK with have the idea that you go to places for specific things ... so coffee and sandwiches in one place a pizza in another, fine dining in somewhere else, but the real family place you should be able to satisfy breakfast dinner tea and supper, and anything inbetween, simply because they are hosts who can cook and are bloody good at it, well we have somewhere like that here now.
Fantastic! The food was delicious (tagliatelle bolognese, a stuffed pasta dish and a children's chicken dish) and the staff were absolutely lovely. The doughnuts (filled with custard and Nutella) are amazing and great to have with a coffee. We'll definitely be back to try the pizzas - they looked very appetising.
