1st time we went I said I would get the lobster ext time as it looked so good when others ordered it. It did not disappoint both times have been great the food is just amazing ! And I'm REALLY! fussy!. This time we had the mixed grill to share, its for two but yoy could easily split that between four I'm just lost for words really there is one let down which is the squid starter we had it both times and was over cooked both times really hard to eat which is a shame because that butter sauce it comes in is SO ! DELICIOUS.

We choose this restaurant for our anniversary celebration and it was a great choice! A very nicely decorated place with great food. I highly recommend cauliflower in sweet-chilli sauce and seafood. Very professional and friendly service. Thank you for an amazing evening.

Located just off the river, with both outdoor and indoor seating, this is a smart restaurant which is great in the summer and for a more special occasion. It doesn’t open until 5:30pm on a Saturday afternoon but there’s plenty of places nearby for a drink should you wish to make a late afternoon occasion before an evening meal. We were only the second table at 6pm but it quickly started to get busier after that. However, the atmosphere was great even before others started to arrive - the interior decor is really nice, the spacious tables are laid out well with a high end feel and the music complimented nicely. We were immediately greeted at the door and shown to a table of our choice, with views over the terrace outside and a view towards the river. There is a large menu with plenty of drinks options and bottles of wine at reasonable prices. The food is geared mainly around fish and seafood, but there’s plenty of meat dishes to satisfy most. The waiting staff were friendly and welcoming, and our order of wine was brought quickly but unfortunately the soft drink was forgotten (fortunately it didn’t appear on the bill later though). We didn’t feel rushed and were left happily to peruse the menu further after ordering a couple of canapés. The chilled pink crevettes came as three whole chilled shrimps, perfectly delicious with a small pot of thousand island sauce. The chorizo & halloumi bites again came as a three, warm, with plenty of tomato sauce on the plate. Both were delicious and a sign of things to come… Our starters were the crab & shrimp tian and fishcakes. The tian was a nice size with a couple of small pieces of bread. One more slice would have been appreciated but it was really tasty and presentation was great. The fishcakes were large and being served with a couple certainly looked like the larger starter. Flavour was again good with the ratio of fish to potato being decent. We weren’t kept waiting long for either dish and both were served professionally. While waiting and throughout the meal our wine glasses were kept topped up with the chilled bottle of white we had ordered. For mains we settled on the giant king prawns, complete with lobster crackers, baked wild rice, chilli & basil jam, as well as the brochette of seafood, which came with sea trout, cod, giant prawn & octopus, mash, red pepper sauce. Again with both, presentation was superb and immediately set the dish off as something special. Portion size wasn’t the largest and I’d have appreciated a little more seafood in the brochette but everything was cooked perfectly and mash was smooth with decent flavour. As nice as the dishes were, we both had room for desert afterwards and although it’s not the largest desert menu there should be something to please most. The warm cookie bake and the vanilla cheesecake were both great and rounded off nicely. There’s no desert wines, which could have topped off the high end feel nicely but there is a small choice of liqueurs and port. Everywhere was very clean including the toilets, which are modern and separated from the restaurant area nicely. Service was added to the bill and all the staff remained friendly as we departed. Overall it was a very enjoyable meal. It’s probably not somewhere you’d go every week and even the waitress asked us if it was a special occasion at one point, but if you like seafood you should certainly give it a go. Whether it’s to try our their seemingly good value lunch offer, or for another larger evening meal I’ll sure to be returning!
