Afternoon tea was really nice, the service was excellent, decor lovely. Scones and sandwiches were delicious, especially as the scones were served slightly warm. The hot chocolate could be improved and I think the choice of the sweet selection could have been a little plainer to appeal to more people. Eg choosing classic’s rather than having a twist on the classics (strawberry profiterole’s). The savoury afternoon tea which costs more looked really nice.
The thermal spa was very relaxing, clean, not too many people (roughly 10 people in at a time). A massage chair would elevate this experience.
One of the oldest and most reputed places in Bedford. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is good!
But the best part is the location. You get to see the river and the swans. And folks kayaking, running and walking their dogs. I really enjoyed my stay here!
Afternoon tea in Anna's
Waited a good deal of time in the foyer before being seated.
Lovely room, crockery and silverware. Food was excellent but service was shocking,
However once seated it felt like we were abandoned with no one asking if everything was OK and having to ask for refills of tea. I did feel sorry for the girl who seemed to managing the whole room on her own ... she did a great job but was very stretched and unable to carry out everything to the high standards o e normally associated with the Swan hotel
