Another lovely Sunday lunch at Brassica. You can’t go wrong, the food is lovely and such good value. Every thing cooked to order, good choices of choice meat, fish or veggie. Always something different and cooked to perfection.
This week I had the turbot it tasted delicious. The roast is always a winner, crispy potatoes and plenty of veg and meat on a shared platter if more than one of you. I finished with the cheese and biscuits, beautiful cheese and thin crackers with nuts and fruit, a perfect match.
We eat here pretty often and I know we will be back. I recommend if you want something different, fresh cooked and very tasty.
We did look at Saturdays menu while we were there and wished we eaten then as well.
I took two friends (who had previously visited Brassica and therefore recommended it) to lunch here today and was really knocked out. A particular high point was the lamb rump with hispi (sweetheart cabbage), anchovies and red onions. The lamb, whose flavour was excellent, was both rare and exquisitely tender. The use of anchovies in preparing the cabbage (which didn't, obviously, result in its tasting of anchovies!) struck me as inspirational; you would have been very happy to have eaten only that. The chilled manzanilla and rose wine that we drank were impeccable, as was the non-alcoholic rhubarb cocktail. I highly recommend a visit.
Overall a fabulous restaurant! Excellent menu with delicious food; the wine list is a great read and offers superb wines; Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff and a great ambience. I will definitely be back.
