My favourite bakery!! Freshly baked sourdough and great coffee. Love the plain croissant and minced pie.. must visit if you’re in Bath.

Located conveniently close to both the railway station and the city centre. This café and shop, stock and sell a really wide variety of delicious food from the main bakery. The café seats approx. 10 people but if you do have to wait, it'll certainly be worth it. Light and airy, we really liked the idea of tables having a toaster on them. Imagine some freshly toasted fantastically tasting sourdough (or any of the other breads available). Delish! We tried a pasty, and a Croque Monsieur to begin with. Where to start. The pasty was an incredibly tasty and filing savoury. The meat was cooked to perfection and the pastry was moreish. This is one of the best pasties I've had in years. Why would you want one of those homogenised branded ones when you could have one of these? The Croque Monsieur is probably one of the best we've had (other than a homemade one) simply put it was very, very tasty. Real ham (none of this reformed sock rubbish), a great tasting bechamel and lashings of cheese. The chocolate and pear tart (topped with hazelnuts) was lovely. The pastry was like biscuit and really complimented the other flavours. I had to find a way to duck the crumbs off the plate, without embarrassing myself. Suffice to say, I failed miserably. But I still had the satisfaction of enjoying every morsel. We also tried a millefeuille. The caramelised sugar adding yet another layer of texture and flavour to this sublime pastry. Great mint and real grey teas (T2). With more hot water when requested. Yes it all gets served on paper plates and cups. The better to serve the numerous take-away customers. The service was courteous and efficient. It's not the cheapest but that's because there's real passion in this real food. If you care little about what you consume. There's plenty of cheap adulterated tat you can throw down your gullet from other places. However, for us. We wanted, and were treated to real food. It was delicious and a great way to spend a couple of hours. Of course we'll be returning.

Amazing backery, beautiful cafe and the absolute BEST Croque Monsieur I've ever had the pleasure to eat! Decent prices and well worth a visit, with outside seating available.
