It's been a while since my last visit but it was so nice to see the Barrasford Arms is still an oasis of sanity in our increasingly mad world. I can't speak for the rooms, I just had dinner with a friend. But we got good beer, good food, great service and a wonderful countryside ambience. What's not to like?
Me and a group of friends stayed there for one night during our Hadrian's Wall hike. It is about 2 km away from the Wall, but it was worth it. Very friendly staff, cold drinks and a lovely outdoor area to enjoy them. Dinner was good, breakfast was excellent and our packed lunch too. Rooms were fine, but wifi was pretty bad.
We went to this restaurant twice and were very impressed. We had the steak (cooked just right), Sausage and mash, and fish and chips. Food was delicious and extra level tasty. Staff really friendly and accomodating our small baby
