Really nice clean pub, lots of seating, with a decent outdoor space. Free customer parking. Not (obviously) wheelchair accessible. Very casual 'spoons vibe.
This was my second visit after a poor first. This time I did enjoy it. The carvery chef was friendly, the waitress was helpful. The food was good - vegetables were hot, not overcooked, even the roast potatoes were acceptable. Gravy was also hot and plentiful. I had roast beef, which in contrary to other reviews it was not tough and tasty. The pork cracking was also edible! There was a choice of roasts - ham, pork, turkey and beef and there was plenty of everything at 3pm. All in all, good value for money..
Lovely staff, easy to get a table, generous carvery portions, good quality meat, nice selection of veg, interesting drinks, reasonably priced. Free car park, nice experience for a cheap but tasty and filling family meal.
We have also been for breakfast which is very reasonable - tea, coffee, juice are extra but as the "all you can eat" is £5.99 for adults, it isn't a deal breaker.
Service is fine, Chef was very responsive and amiable.
The Belgian waffles is clearly their way of "offering something different" but it doesn't really work, it's perfectly good food and plenty of it. Very quiet on a Friday morning, and the slight toilet/sewage smell still lingers in the air, but somehow it doesn't ruin the experience.
