When you find a pub this good you're almost tempted to keep it to yourself so it doesn't get really busy, but I can't help recommending The Bell as it's simply the best place to eat locally! Every visit has been outstanding, especially my birthday meal which was made so special by a really lovely experience that the whole party enjoyed. Amazing and imaginative food cooked perfectly and with attention given to every aspect of the meal, friendly and genuine staff who clearly love what they do, a nice village setting and ambience, plus thoughtful touches like delicious artisan bread and home-made butter (who would have thought bread and butter could taste so good?!) What more could you ask for?
Today was our 1st visit to The Bell but it definitely won't be our last. Hands down, best Sunday roast I've ever had, the Yorkshire puds tasted just like what mum makes. The pub is small but very comfy and cosy and the service was fantastic and friendly. If you're going for Sunday roast I highly recommend making a reservation. The added bonus to this pub is without doubt, Max the dog, what a sweetheart!
I visited with my wife and baby boy for lunch on Wednesday. Lovely welcome and service from Jen and chef Mike prepared us a few starters - calamari, lamb koftas and the Asian style broth were delicious and so unique for pub grub. We followed this with a lovely beef plate with parsnip. The food was the highlight of our 1 week stay in the area. No room for pudding so we hope to get back to try some more next time we are in the area!
