Came here with a whole group of friends after we did a Dark Peak race as a celebration! We also came to this same pub for lunch.
Good:
- Larger portion sizes here! Even the 8-pound sandwich was huge and made it super worth the price! I liked the tomato mozzarella sandwich the most.
- The servers were really nice - solid apple cider too
- Lots of seating so you can get a fairly large group together.
Bad:
- Took a while for our food to get there each time.
- The food was okay, it wasn't the best I've had or the worst, it just wasn't superb - my fish pie for example just tasted like a large piece of mashed potato.
Overall this was a really calming place, a relaxed environment, and a good place to catchup since it's not really loud. It also has good wifi and you can connect if you have the wifi password!
Stopped in here a couple of times at the weekend. One for lunch and another for breakfast. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was great. Highlights being the Mac n Cheese and the full English breakfast. The only thing that was a tad disappointing was their black pudding which we had in the stack and also part of the breakfast. It was pretty bland tasting and didn't have great texture. A shame as the black pudding stack was a great dish that I'd not seen on a menu before. Overall though it's a great pub that I would recommend if visiting Bakewell.
🍽️ stopped for lunch at this restaurant pub looked super busy and had tables outside, headed in waiting to be seated unfortunately they don’t serve food outside which was a little disappointing as the weather was nice but we sat inside anyway.
We ordered our food nachos, bacon and brie sandwich and halloumi fries two drinks and it came to £32
The food took a while to arrive as it was so busy but can’t fault what was served tasty and hot!
Would recommend a visit here if your passing through Bakewell.
