On a very wet day I called in for coffee. Never having been here before I had some difficulty finding the door, which is rather concealed. There are four short flights of stairs to the cafe, which makes it a pleasantly calm place free of the usual clutter of prams that plague so many cafés today. The service is excellent and the coffee excellent. There's a comprehensive menu to suit the majorit, unfortunately I can't eat in these places because like Jordan Peterson, I discovered that most foods cause inflammation diseases in me. I would have been happy to spend more time there but Bakewell has some serious problems on the parking front, and the roads are permanently jammed with traffic. Anyway this is a pleasantl venue as are the staff.
Further to my review yesterday, I must add that I have been to most of the cafés in Bakewell over the last few months. I have concluded that the Upstairs Cafe is definitely the best and serves the best coffee by far.
Good brew and a dam, good bacon and sausage butty to boot ! Staff excellent -prices not bad . Happy to recommend.
