We have dined here a few times. Sadly a little while ago they suffered a devastating fire but have reopened again. The pub is an old building with plenty of character. The jewel in its crown is being located in the lovely village of Aylesford right next to the river Medway. Their outside area offers lovely views of the river and old bridge crossing.
They have a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. IMO they have upped their game on the food front, most patrons were there to eat and we saw some very tasty meals passing by us. We are being healthy ATM so went for tuna nicoise salad. Our came a lovely tuna steak with new potatoes and a leafy salad with olives, tomato and onion.
They have some vegetarian and vegan options on their menu too.
Service is not quick but I would rather have fresh cooked good food than zapped, poor quality food.
We also treated ourselves to a frozen strawberry daiquiri slushy, very nice on a warm day.
There is a free car park a five minute walk away, no parking on the street outside.
In summary, a nice meal, not rushed . Staff except one were friendly.
Great service, friendly staff and the food was amazing! Had to send my complements to the chef Blake. We shall definitely return
We have been four times now for the steak Monday, it is the best we have ever eaten and love they do half price on Monday which means we can afford a meal out as a family, will come every fortnight whilst this runs.
Drinks they have two pints for £8 between 4-6 which also helps us.
Have also been for lunch the other day and was lovely too.
Very helpful via Facebook message to which is good for me
