Our lunch The Old Dairy Kitchen this weekend was absolutely wonderful. We didn't really know what to expect, but it was recommended by the place we were staying in.
The location is extremely picturesque and idyllic. The food was a dream and the service lovely.
The experience also felt very Covid-safe to us, as the barn was very spacious and airy and we were sat more than metres away from others.
Trill - Old Dairy Kitchen has been a life saver since lockdown. It's been wonderful to receive the surprise dishes. It has made self isolating less boring. Thank you Chris, helpers & delivery people. Wonderful food & wonderful instructions what more can I say..... It's good to know where the food comes from.
The Old Dairy Kitchen is situated on a 300 acre organic farm with very high ethical standards where separate enterprises work together to complement each other.
Our lunch last week was absolutely delicious, and we are very much looking forward to returning soon.
We had beetroot, herby arancini, beans with a very tasty salsa verde and braised goat shoulder which was delicious. The pudding was a rhubarb jelly with rhubarb parfait - a great finish.
Not only was it excellent value, but everything about it was magnificent - including the weather. If I had to find something to complain about it would be the tea and coffee which I don't think was quite up to the incredibly high standards of the rest of the meal.
The menu changes frequently with different produce becoming available, from the herb garden, the salad garden and the livestock.
After we had eaten Mariel gave us a tour of the farm and explained its genesis.
Thank you for providing a great afternoon for us.
