A very nice thatched roof country pub on the outskirts of Tamworth.
I opted for a rather unusual gooseberry ale and was rather pleased with it. I had a look at the menu and thought I will return and edit this review.
The beer is very well looked after, and always there is a good choice - bit of a trip for us but we never regret it. Food I had was excellent. Why then it was very quiet on a Friday lunch time when pub chains serving heated up second rate food can get busy. Recently won an award and well deserved
The Bird in Hand is a great looking pub from the outside, and in, especially cosy when visiting in the colder months with a lovely fire burning.
Food/drink was very nice, but I do find it a little on the expensive side for a country pub, but having said that it is well worth the visit.
Staff are friendly and extremely helpful.
