Absolutely gorgeous from the moment we walked in the door. It was my wedding anniversary & everything was fabulous. Chocolate orange cheesecake was amazing. The pies were full of fillings. Landlady was very busy but attentive to every guest & welcoming. Wouldn't hesitate going back.
Lovely welcome, friendly staff, super decor and lovely food. Enjoyed my visit for a weekday lunch. Was here with a friend. The menu offers a good variation. We chose seabass, new potatoes and trimmings, my friend said it was gorgeous. As you can see, I chose the scotch eggs (haggis style), cooked to perfection and ordered a side salad. Although a starter, it was enough. Nice deserts on offer.
There are a few seating areas inside to choose from, it's so cosy and traditional in the restaurant area on the sunny side. Outside has sitting areas too, lovely as it was a beautiful day. A covered area is available too incase its colder. At the back, it overlooks countryside and fields of horses, so nice views.
I would advise you book for a table at the weekend as it does get busy. Very popular. !!! Will be back soon.
Visited the Millhouse on Friday for lunch with my mum & uncle for the first time. We rocked up without a booking which was fine, it just meant we had to order ourselves at the bar (no problem). Food arrived really fast even though it was quite busy for an early afternoon and the portions were MASSIVE! Which I thoroughly enjoyed! But even for me, considering I have a big appetite, I think portion sizes should be considered slightly as there was so much wasted at the end purely due to being stuffed!
took a while for the tables to be cleared but I think that was due to staffing levels. The only reason for 4 stars is just we heard one member of staff really rant on aggressively about something which made us uncomfortable but other than that… will definitely be returning!!
