The bar staff were exceptionally friendly, we felt very welcomed.
The food was delicious. I went for the pie of the day, which was chicken and chorizo, beautiful pastry with good filling and sauce inside. Vegetables accompanying the pie and mash were cooked nicely.
If I was in the area for longer I definitely would have gone back to try their quiche of the day too.
The Tap also has a great selection if beers.
So overall a great place for a drink with a large outdoor seating area in the back, which led onto a lovely green enclosed seating area (photographed).
The venue can be a bit of a maze, as it's part of the Norfolk Arms Hotel, so there is also a second bar further in from the Tap (the Tap is directly by the street entrance). The toilets were inside the hotel but I think when busy they also have other toilets closer to the beer garden available
Lovely staff in the bar. Great staircase and ballroom with chandeliers. Say Ashley Campbell there. Only thing that spoilt the show was one particular person ordering drinks in the middle of the show! Not respectful. Also the bar door kept banging in the show whilst staff got more drinks etc
I can’t believe I’ve passed this bar and never popped in. Such a great selection of local beers. A fantastic atmosphere and cosy comfortable vibe decor wise.
We were served by a very efficient and helpful young lady. Her knowledge of the products was impressive.
This place deserves to be very successful
I think it already is.
