Visited today, lovely environment the only issue is the queuing which makes the waiting time longer,1 que for everything so even though I only wanted cakes I had to wait in the que for hot food, read a few comments about this, and especially when there are staff not busy or serving would of given 5⭐but this does seem like a little bit of a annoying Issue with people, other than this the cakes are amazing 👏
We had take away today. Very nice. Slightly expensive, but well worth the money.
First, we eat with the eyes, and this is the first time I have been into a Chatwins with this great look. Someone did a good job with the design and lighting.
Each store will have a different layout based on the size and shape of the shop floor, of course. But the Alsager store looks impressive.
Sunday lunch time, around 12:30, the hot counter had a good selection of roasts and breakfast stuffs.
The menu is displayed on a 32" TV. White text on a black background is high-contrast and good for readability. The only minor niggles are that the menu pages changed before I had time to decide what to have, and the pricing didnt make it clear enough thst some items are optional and what their prices were. I'm sure the info is there, it's just not so clearly marked. I was left to wait until the menu rotated through the three other pages before returning to the page I wanted. Then, when I ordered, it wasn't the headline price on the menu. My order was the fully loaded breakfast bap.
The bread bun isn't large enough to hold all the ingredients without some falling off, so my plan for a takeaway changed to sitting in. That then resulted in another price change. A small additional charge for eating in. Okay, fine. £7 for a breakfast bap, but it was well cooked, and they managed to do a nice runny yolk with a good sunset orange colour.
