Lovely place for water sports with friends and family, and of all ages, something for everyone has all the safety precautions in place and very friendly staff. Didn't use the café but what we saw looked good. I'm looking forward to summer days with the family at Allerthorpe.

We went at a weekend with our 3 year old son and booked for the lake side walks etc. Arrival was easy as we were greeted by a staff member who handed out wristbands and directed us to the correct parking spot.
We watched some of the water activities taking place, which look great fun.
Unfortunately the lakeside walk was only average and there weren't any great features. The playgrounds were of some entertainment but a little dilapidated.
Main complaint was that a lot of people seemed there just to let their dogs jump in the water and run around off the lead. Not much fun dodging excited soggy doggies! One person even let there's in the paddling area against the signage.
Overall, for the cost, it's only an average country park. Definitely focused on the water activities.

It's a nice place to stay with kids. It was very busy on a Sunday. Plenty of things to do if you are willing to spend money. Booking is required in advance. Dogs are allowed.
