We were staying in a nearby village so though we would give The Red Lion a try for dinner. We were not disappointed, a lovely atmosphere and a warm welcome. Good selection on the menu and reasonable priced too. We chatted to a local man, it was interesting hearing about the area and gave us some ideas of where to visit while we were in the area.
The food was hot, fresh and well cooked, delicious. Give it a try if you are passing.
The food and friendly staff make this place well worth a visit. Value was good. The normal menu and the specials board were what I would describe as classic pub food, but it was prepared fresh and nicely cooked, served hot and with friendly service. Choice of wine was very limited we but had no complaints with any of the other drink selections. As the driver of our party I was impressed with the Moretti zero lager which was surprisingly pleasant to drink. We visited on a Tuesday evening in August and it was quite busy so during peak times it is worth phoning and booking in advance. They especially recommend you do this if you are a party of six or more. There is a car park but it is quite small. There is a garden and children’s play area. At the time we visited no food was served outside. If you are in the area and looking for nice pub food then the Red Lion is definitely worth a visit.
Great pub, traditional great quality food at a sensible price. They manage their resources well do it is a relaxed unhurried environment. Deserts are afforablr & recommended
